Hale & True + Lo-Fi Aperitifs present The Apple of My Lo-Fi: a cider and aperitifs cocktail competition.
On Tuesday, November 27, 6-9pm, four local bartenders will be tasked with creating a cocktail using Lo-Fi aperitifs and Hale & True cider that best exemplifies these two featured ingredients. As our guests and judges, you will be tasting each cocktail and voting for your favorite to award as the winner.
Your ticket includes admission, each bartender's cocktail, and Lo-Fi drinks, and light food to enjoy throughout the night. Cider, beer, and more will also be available pay-as-you-go from the Hale & True bar.
Our talented competitors are:
Lee Whittemore (Hale & True) - Lee is representing the home team. He is currently a bartender at Hale & True, a 2018 Best of Philly winner and recently named one of Philly Mag’s 50 Best Bars. He also works at Bar in Midtown. Previously, Lee worked at the Bercy in Ardmore and Banh Mi and Bottles, a 2017 Best of Philly winner.
Vincent Stipo (Hospitality Consultant / The Good King Tavern) - Vincent moved to Philadelphia in 2012 to help open Vernick Food & Drink. Since then, he has been named “Bartender of the Year” by Eater Philadelphia and one of The Daily Meal’s “America’s 25 Best Bartenders.” He has been involved in many notable, award-winning spots, including our friends and neighbors, The Good King Tavern, and Palizzi Social Club. He also was the broker that helped Hale & True find our home in Bella Vista.
Ashley Kane (Time) - Ashley is a long-time bartender at Time, the jazz and whiskey bar in Midtown. Before moving to Philly, she bartended outside of Asheville. She recently competed representing Pennsylvania in The First Annual Tri-State Bluecoat Bartender Battle at Philadelphia Distilling.
Taylor Parry (Bait & Switch) - Taylor is a bartender at Bait & Switch, a seafood bar in Port Richmond and 2017 Best of Philly winner.
